Putin: organizers of seizure of power in Ukraine planned to physically remove Yanukovych

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. March 15 (Interfax) - The organizers of the coup in Kyiv not only planned to seize power in Ukraine but to physically remove the country's leader Viktor Yanukovych, President Vladimir Putin has said.

"It became clear to us and we were receiving information that not only his capture - but what was more preferable for those who conducted this coup d'etat - his physical removal was being prepared. As a well-known historical character said: no man, no problem," Putin said in the documentary "Crimea - Return to the Motherland" (also known as "Crimea, Homeward Bound") aired on Russia 1 channel on Sunday.
