LPR demands that Kyiv observe Minsk agreements, approve list of Donbas populated areas granted special status

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - The administration of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) insists that Kyiv should observe some points of the set of measures adopted on February 12 that Ukraine has not observed yet, LPR envoy Vladislav Deinego told Interfax on Monday.

"There is no alternative to the Minsk agreements. They need to be fulfilled. Despite any accusations made by Kyiv against us, it has not fulfilled some of the measures yet, specifically, the list of the populated areas of Donbas that are granted special status has not been approved yet, although all deadlines have expired. Kyiv also continues to avoid discussing the modality of elections in Donbas, although dialogue on this issue was expected to begin the day following the completion of hardware withdrawal, that is, on marc 8," he said.

Deinego said that "there is a need to immediately intensify work on these issues."

"Kyiv is now making some effort to submit a decree to the Verkhovna Rada, but instead of a list of special populated areas we only see abstract descriptions of the location of these populated areas, it does not contain their names or other specific information," Deinego said.
