Ukrainian army reports reduced gunfire intensity in Donbas
KYIV. March 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army press center has reported eleven attacks by the militia overnight.
"The gunfire intensity has been on decline. Last night, from 8 p.m. on March 17 till 6 a.m. on March 18, the enemy chaotically used small arms against our servicemen eleven times," the press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
The militia shelled Opytne four times, Avdiivka twice and Pisky once in the Donetsk region, the army said.
The town of Shyrokyne in the Mariupol area has been a hotbed of confrontations for several weeks. The militia twice used small arms against the town overnight. The militia also staged armed provocations in the village of Chermalyk, the press center said.
