Lieberman to remain Israeli foreign minister, relations with Moscow won't change - ambassador
MOSCOW. March 18 (Interfax) - Israeli Foreign Minister and leader of Israel is Our Home party Avigdor Lieberman will be on the new Cabinet which Binyamin Netanyahu, the leader of the winning Likud party, intends to form, Israeli ambassador to Moscow Dorit Golender has said.
"Without a doubt the word and weight of Lieberman despite the small number of mandates collected by his party remain very significant. I am sure that Mr. Lieberman will join the Cabinet and be a minister," she said to Interfax.
She said that in the nearest future Netanyahu will devote all his free time to the issue of forming the new Cabinet.
In her opinion, the new government of Israel will continue the course of developing good relations with Russia.
"It seems to me that the policy that Israel has been conducting with regard to Russia in the past few years will undoubtedly continue, because there are not only good relations between leaders but also many other very important segments that build up our economic ties, develop them," she said.
