MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The combat readiness drills currently under way in the Russian Armed Forces are a routine event, Russian Armed Forces General Staff Chief Gen. Valery Gerasimov has said.

"The operational and combat training events currently taking place in the Armed Forces are routine and are not posing any threat to any states," Gerasimov said when commenting on the results of the Russian Northern Fleet's drills.

All Armed Forces units taking part in the exercises are able to tackle their combat training tasks in a highly effective manner, he added.
