Crimean authorities to begin selling nationalized Kolomoisky enterprises on April 1

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Sergei Aksyonov, the head of the Republic of Crimea, said most of the enterprises to be sold after nationalization in Crimea are enterprises formerly owned by Ukrainian businessmen Ihor Kolomoisky.

"The nationalized assets that will be sold are enterprises [formerly owned by] Kolomoisky, a total of some 150 enterprises. There is a demand for them. We will begin trading on April 1. Several enterprises may be sold in April," Aksyonov told reporters on Thursday.

Aksyonov added that the money from the sale of the enterprises is expected to go to the foundation to protect Crimean depositors. "These enterprises will be sold until we pay full compensation to the people hurt by the actions taken by Kolomoisky's banks," Aksyonov said.

Aksyonov also said the state-run enterprises Krymenergo and Krymgaz will remain state property. "They will most likely belong to the state, but state-private partnership options are possible, too," Aksyonov said.
