Russian, Greek deputy defense ministers discuss military cooperation

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov met with Greek First Deputy Minister of National Defense Costas Isihos on Thursday to discuss defense cooperation, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The parties discussed the Russian-Greek military and military-technical cooperation and outlined the areas of cooperation as part the Russia-Greece cross-year due in 2016," the spokesperson said.

At the talks, Antonov confirmed the offer for Greece to attend the fourth Moscow conference on international security due to be held on April 16 -17, 2015.

"The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, the parties reaffirmed the mutual desire to continue to develop the broad and mutually advantageous cooperation between the defense ministries," the ministry said.

The meeting was held in Moscow at Greece's request.
