Ryabkov: Iran nuclear talks' progress inspires certain optimism

LAUSANNE. March 20 (Interfax) - There is no threat of the Iran nuclear talks' being disrupted, and their progress inspires certain optimism, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"There is no danger of being on the brink of disruption of some sort. In fact, the collective effort, the level of contacts we have established and the close relations with other partners based on trust give us hope that our priorities will be worthily reflected," he told reporters on Friday.

"That inspires a certain optimism," he said.

Russia has a number of issues that need to be analyzed and reflected in the prospective agreement, the diplomat said. "We think an agreement cannot happen without the reflection and account of our priorities and approaches," he said.

At the same time, there is no need to hold a full-scale ministerial meeting between the P5+1 group and Iran at present, Ryabkov said.
