Fighting under way in northwestern outskirts of Donbas
DONETSK. March 22 (Interfax) - The militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) reports armed clashes in Pisky and Spartak in the northwestern outskirts of Donetsk.
"There is an armed clash now in the areas of Spartak and Pisky," DPR senior military official Eduard Basurin told Interfax Sunday morning.
There were sounds of explosions and shelling in the western part of Donetsk.
"In 24 hours we recorded 41 violations of the ceasefire, we are speaking of mortar and rifle fire," he added.
Meanwhile, the press center of the Ukrainian military operation earlier reported that nine instances of shooting at Ukrainian army positions by the militia and one armed clash were recorded between 8 p.m. on Saturday and 5 a.m. on Sunday.
