Crimea to create own airline
MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Crimea is going to create its own airline, the deputy director of United Aircraft Corporation's (UAC) civil aviation department, Sergei Turik, said.
"We are expecting to have a fleet of six aircraft. The number of routes in the first stage is 14. Overall possible routes in the future might be 36, and 1.45 billion rubles in investments are needed," the agency Cryminform quotes Turik as saying.
It is assumed that the airline's fleet will consist of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. In addition, 490,000 people might use the airlines services in 2016. The minimum flight frequency in the low season will be five flights per month on each route.
Turik added that the company will start showing profit after three years of operations. "The period of entering positive profit territory will be no shorter than three years. The prepared investment period is eight months," he noted.
