Nestle invests 4.6 bln rubles in Russian market in 2014

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - Nestle invested 4.6 billion rubles in the Russian market in 2014, the company said in a press release.

The company is subsequently developing local production and has brought the level of localization of production to more than 90%. "The focus on the development of local production is enabling the better fulfillment of needs and requests of consumers, and also allows for more effectively adapting to changing economic conditions," the company said.

One of the large projects in Russia for the company in 2014 was the opening almost one year ago of a new plant for the production of baby oatmeal and a distribution center in Vologda. The total amount of investments in the implementation of the project was 1.7 billion rubles, and the volume of production is 11,000 tonnes a year.

Since 1996 the total volume of investments of Nestle in the Russian economy has exceeded $1.8 billion.

Nestle currently has a confectionary plant in Samara, the baby oatmeal plant in Vologda, a culinary product plant in the Vladimir region, an animal feed plant in Kaluga, a confectionery plant and a ready breakfast plant in Perm, a coffee plant in the Krasnodar territory and three plants in the Moscow region.

Nestle has more than 460 plants around the world.
