Kazatomprom chief Nurlan Kapparov dies
ASTANA. March 26 (Interfax) - The head of Kazakh national company Kazatomprom Nurlan Kapparov has died, a source in the Kazakh government told Interfax on Thursday.
Kapparov, who would have turned 45 on March 30, died of a heart attack during a business trip to China, the source said.
No one has been appointed to replace Kapparov in an acting capacity, an informed source at the company told Interfax.
Kazatomprom is Kazakhstan's national operator for exports of uranium and uranium compounds, rare earth metals, fuel for nuclear power plants, and special dual-purpose equipment, technology and materials. Kazatomprom is one of the world's biggest uranium production companies.
