Ukraine prosecutors present film implying militia's role in 2014 Malaysia Airlines crash
KYIV. March 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have proposed adding "witnesses' testimony" to the evidence collected during an international investigation into last year's crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 in Ukraine's Donetsk region.
At a press briefing in Kyiv on Monday, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office demonstrated a film suggesting that a Buk missile system allegedly delivered by Russia to the territory of Ukraine could be responsible for that incident.
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin explained that the main theory of the investigation is that the Boeing passenger plane had been shot down by "separatists".
Head of Ukraine's Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, for his part, reiterated the importance of the testimony given by "witnesses of the air crash".
The MH17 flight operated by Malaysia Airlines, from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board were killed. An international inquiry is under way.
