Kremlin spokesman not ruling out Putin's attendance at UN General Assembly session
MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has not ruled out that Russian President Vladimir Putin may attend the opening of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September 2015, but said that a final decision on this matter has not been made so far.
"I cannot confirm this to you because we have not confirmed this to anyone yet. However, we do not rule out such an opportunity," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
"Every year, presidents have the option of visiting the UN General Assembly," he said.
"And this option becomes even more relevant this year because it will be an anniversary session," Peskov said.
"However, a final decision should not be expected before the summer. We will make such an announcement," he added.
