Sanctions can't influence Russian policy - Chechnya head
MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - Chechen Republic head Ramzan Kadyrov said speaking the language of sanctions to Russia is senseless.
"It would be naive to think that by using such methods Australia, or any other country can influence Russia's domestic or foreign policy," Kadyrov told Interfax by telephone in comments on the Australian government's decision to introduce new sanctions against Russian politicians, businessmen and companies.
They are mistaken: Russia can't be scared, he said.
"Speaking this kind of language to Russia is senseless, as President Vladimir Putin has said repeatedly. I personally think, as Putin's ardent and consistent ally and a patriot, that I am honored to have been entered on the list of those opposed by Russia's enemies," Kadyrov said.
