LPR leader does not object to Ukrainian politician participation in Donbas elections

LUHANSK. March 31 (Interfax) - Igor Plotnitsky, the head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), said he will not object to Ukrainian politicians participating in the elections in eastern Ukraine that are envisaged by the Minsk agreements.

"I am all for it," Plotnitsky said, commenting on the statement by Serhiy Levochkin, a representative of the Opposition Bloc, who said his party is ready to participate in the upcoming elections in Donbas.

"Let Levochkin and his comrades come here and say where they were, in what trenches they sat, how many wounded people they carried [from the battlefield] and how much blood they donated," Plotnitsky said. "If the people will elect them, then so be it," he said.
