Investor: Primorye gambling zone to unveil first entertainment center in July

VLADIVOSTOK. Apr 1 (Interfax) - The first entertainment center in the Primorye gambling zone will open in the middle of July, LLC First Gambling Company of the East CEO John Wang told Primorye First Deputy Governor Vasily Usoltsev on Wednesday.

Wang said he was expecting to unveil a hotel in summer, in the middle of June, the Primorye district administration press service reported.

First Gambling Company of the East and Melco International Development Limited are set to open a 140-room hotel and a casino at the initial stage of the project.

The recruitment of hotel and casino employees began in winter and coaching is underway.

First Gambling Company of the East, Summit Ascent Holdings, Melco and Elegant City are partners to the deal investing over $700 million in the Primorye integrated entertainment zone. The agreement was signed in September 2013.

A one-billion-ruble contribution in the zone infrastructures is expected from the territorial authorities.

The total area of the Primorsky gambling zone nears 620 hectares. It is located on the northwestern coast of Ussuri Bay, south of Muravyinaya. The distance to the Artyom airport is 25 kilometers, and Vladivostok is 50 kilometers away.

The partners have pledged to build 16 hotels of three to five star categories with casinos, a yacht club, a marina for 65 vessels, downhill skiing tracks, a shopping and exhibition center, an administrative and office center, and other facilities.

The investment project will have three stages: the first one ends in 2016, the second in 2019, and the third in 2022. Total investment will be at least $1.8 billion.
