Shuvalov: China interested in building high-speed rail line between Moscow, Beijing

NOVO-OGARYOVO. Apr 1 (Interfax) - China will offer Russia to consider the construction of a high-speed rail line between Beijing and Moscow at the upcoming meeting of the two chiefs of state in Moscow on May 8, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said.

"The Chinese side will suggest that Russia seriously discuss a Moscow-Beijing high-speed rail project," he said at a meeting of the president with government members on Wednesday.

"My colleagues in the government will prepare for your summit on May 8, including, this issue," Shuvalov told the president.
