Peskov redirects question about incident with Russian aircraft in Yemen to Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov has advised journalists to ask the Russian Foreign Ministry about the aircraft sent to Yemen for the evacuation of Russian citizens.
At Peskov's Wednesday meeting with the press journalists asked about Arab media reports saying that Saudi Arabia did not let a Russian airliner evacuate Russian citizens from Yemen.
"I don't have such information," Peskov said.
He advised asking the Foreign Ministry whether Russia had assigned any aircraft on Wednesday to evacuate Russians. "It is a question for the Russian Foreign Ministry," he said.
Earlier on Wednesday the Arab media reported that the international coalition led by Saudi Arabia did not permit the flight of a Russian aircraft that had been sent to evacuate Russian citizens from Yemen. The reports said that the sending of the plane from Russia had been agreed upon in advance.
