Russia sends 23rd humanitarian aid convoy to Donbas - emergencies ministry

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Russia's 23rd convoy of trucks with humanitarian supplies is currently en route to Ukraine's south-eastern regions, a spokesman for the Russian National Crisis Management Center told Interfax.

"At 4:00 a.m. Moscow time, more than 120 trucks left the Don rescue center and are now heading to the state border. They are carrying over 1,400 tonnes of humanitarian aid," he said.

The cargo includes food, essential items, medicines, seeds and potatoes for the sowing campaign, as well as construction materials, the spokesman said.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has delivered more than 28,500 tonnes of relief supplies to Donbas since mid-August 2014.
