DPR claims ongoing bombardments of Donetsk airport, Shyrokyne, Horlivka
DONETSK. Apr 2 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has reported 19 attacks on the DPR territory by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours. There have been no casualty reports as of yet.
"The Ukrainian side opened fire 19 times as of 4 a.m. on April 2, including nine times by use of mortars, one by use of howitzer, one by use of automatic grenade launcher, and two by use of armored personnel carriers, anti-tank launchers and small arms each," the Donetsk news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
The ministry claimed bombardments of Spartak, Shyrokyne, Vesele, Horlivka, the Donetsk airport and a Volvo center located nearby. "The militia did not return fire in provocations staged by Kyiv servicemen," it said.
The situation has been tense but stable, the ministry added.
