FAS, Schlumberger discuss terms of deal with EDC, parties reviewing list in detail
MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - The head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), Igor Artemiyev, has met with representatives from international oilfield services company Schlumberger to discuss the possible conditions that the Russian government might recommend in order for the company to acquire shares in Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC).
"Headed by Igor Artemiyev, Russia's FAS met with representatives of Schlumberger on March 31, 2015. Discussed at the meeting were the possible obligations that might be placed on Schlumberger for the deal on Eurasia Drilling [shares]. The talks were constructive and benevolent," the head of the FAS' division for foreign investments, Armen Khanyan, told reporters.
The list of terms has not yet been agreed upon. "The parties are currently studying the proposed obligations in detail," he said.
Khanyan added that the terms suggested in the Schlumberger deal will be communicated to the public after the entire list is agreed upon by both parties. This will also occur after the governmental commission on foreign investments is notified.
