Russian subs were not present in area of trawler wreck off Kamchatka - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax-AVN) - No Russian Navy submarines were present in the area of the Sea of Okhotsk where the Dalny Vostok trawler sank early on April 2, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told Interfax-AVN on Friday.

"All claims made by certain media companies and social networking websites that the Dalny Vostok trawler could have sunk after colliding with a Russian submarine in the Sea of Okhotsk are not true," Konashenkov said.
