Life of every sailor from sunken trawler was insured for $15,000
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. April 3 (Interfax) - All crewmembers of the Dalny Vostok autonomous freezing trawler, which sunk in the Sea of Okhotsk, were insured, Alexei Vasin, deputy general director of OOO Magellan, the owner of the sunken trawler, said.
"Each sailor was insured for $15,000," Vasin said at a meeting of the coordination headquarters in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
He reiterated that the company Magellan will pay 200,000 rubles to the family of each survivor and 500,000 rubles to the family of each sailor who has died in the accident.
According to earlier reports, the families of each resident of Sakhalin who died in the sinking of the trawler will receive one million rubles and the families of each sailor injured in the accident will receive 200,000 rubles from the region's reserve fund.
The Primorye administration also said they will provide all the necessary assistance to the families of residents of the territory who have been killed or injured in the accident.
