Miratorg boosts pork production 11% in Q1

BELGOROD. April 6 (Interfax) - LLC Agribusiness Holding Miratorg boosted pork production 11% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2015 to 75,100 tonnes, the company's press service said.

This occurred due to the launch of a production line with capacity of 8,800 tonnes per year at the Korocha pork complex in Belgorod region.

Specifically, pork production in industrial packaging grew 24% to 29,200 tonnes, while consumer packaged pork soared 54% to 9,600 tonnes.

CJSC Korocha Pork Complex is one of Russia's largest enterprises for the slaughter and processing of pork.

Miratorg, established in 1995, is one of the largest pork and fodder producers in Russia and is also one of the leading operators on the Russian food market. The companies in the holding provide full-cycle production "from the field to the counter."

The holding includes grain companies, fodder plants, elevators, 27 major automated hog farms, meat processing company Korocha, a transport company, five low-temperature automated distribution centers and a distribution company with branches in major cities around the country. It has invested more than 120 billion rubles.
