Russian budget deficit 4.9% of GDP in Q1 - first deputy finance minister
MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - Russia's federal budget had a deficit of 812.3 billion rubles or 4.9% of GDP in the first quarter of 2015, First Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Nesterenko told reporters.
She said budget revenue was 3.437 trillion rubles or 20.7% of GDP and 22.8% of planned revenue for the year; and spending was 4.249 trillion rubles or 25.6% of GDP and 26.9% of target.
GDP was 73.119 trillion rubles.
The amount of budgetary funds remaining on the Federal Treasury's accounts as of April 1, excluding the Reserve Fund and the National Welfare Fund (NWF), totaled 1.735 trillion rubles. Of this, 1.3 trillion rubles were on the joint treasury account (1.097 trillion rubles worth of rubles and 203.3 billion rubles worth of forex), while 434.6 billion rubles were in deposits (403.2 billion rubles and 31.4 billion rubles, respectively).
The budget had oil and gas revenues of 1.546 trillion rubles in January-March, or 9.3% of GDP, while non-oil and gas revenues totaled 1.891 trillion rubles, or 11.4% of GDP.
There was a non-oil and gas budget deficit of 2.358 trillion rubles in the first quarter, or 14.2% of GDP.
