Source of smoke on board Oryol nuclear sub put out - ship repair facility

MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - The source of smoke on board the Oryol nuclear submarine undergoing modernization at the Zvyozdochka ship repair facility in Severodvinsk, the Arkhangelsk region, has been fully eliminated, Zvyozdochka reported on Tuesday evening.

"The source of smoke on board the Oryol submarine undergoing maintenance at Zvyozdochka has been fully eliminated now. There is no smoke anymore, and only steam is pouring out now," Zvyozdochka spokesman Yevgeny Gladyshev told journalists.

The dry dock in which the submarine is installed is still being flooded, and the sub's hull is being washed down from above, he said.
