Surprise check begins in heavy motorized infantry brigade of Central Military District

MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - A heavy motorized infantry brigade has been put on high alert in the Orenburg region for a surprise check of its combat readiness, the district press service said on Wednesday.

"A heavy motorized infantry brigade of the Central Military District stationed in the Orenburg region has been put on alert and started to accomplish training missions. After being put on high alert, motorized infantry, armor and artillery units of the brigade marched to designated areas of the Totsky range for live fire exercises by use of standard weapons and combat vehicle driving practice," assistant commander of the Central Military District forces Col. Yaroslav Roshchupkin told Interfax.

More than 3,500 soldiers and officers and over 1,200 weapons are engaged in the check, he said.
