Russia ready for agriculture JVs with Thailand, but expects grain market reciprocity - PM

BANGKOK. April 8 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to organize agricultural production, including in the form of joint ventures, with Thailand on Russian territory, but will expect Russian grain to be allowed onto the Thai market on competitive terms, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in Bangkok.

"In the agro-industrial complex, we are prepared to form joint ventures and, of course, we are ready for deliveries of Thai produce to our market. But we'd want reciprocity, where our own producers of grain and milled products are also able to supply this to the Thai market," he said.

He said this approach would leveling out the imbalances in bilateral trade between Russia and Thailand in the right way

He also said a Russian-Thai commission on bilateral cooperation was working and that its next meeting should take place in Russia in the summer.
