Putin: Ukraine conflict prompted by interference in internal affairs of sovereign states
MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Russia has objected and will continue to object to interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, which, in particular, has prompted the Ukraine crisis, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a ceremony of the introduction of high-ranking military officers in the Kremlin on Thursday.
"We are against interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states and the provoking of armed conflicts. Such practice in relation to a number of countries in North Africa and the Middle and Near East has led to an outbreak of terrorism there and has engendered a bloody drama near our borders, in the neighboring Ukraine," Putin said.
