Ukraine's fleet should be NATO compatible - Poroshenko

KYIV. April 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has set the task to modernize the Ukrainian fleet, presidential press officer Svyatoslav Tseholko said.

"Our president in Odesa: our fleet should be modern and compatible with NATO ships. Our priority is to build new ships in Ukraine," Tseholko said on Twitter on Friday.

According to Tseholko, Poroshenko said Ukraine should create a navy from scratch, in the same way as it created its army.
