Global discussions cannot be effective without Russia - Peskov
MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - While Russia has no intention of imposing itself on the G7, discussion of global issues without Russia is unlikely to produce tangible results, the Kremlin says.
"The president said on many occasions that we do not intend to impose ourselves on any format whatsoever. To which I can add that, naturally, discussion of global problems without the Russian Federation's participation is unlikely to be effective and will unlikely lead to any effective results," Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
Asked whether Russia is keen to participate in summits, he said: "We are, of course, open as ever to any cooperation and any interaction. We were and remain open."
