Kazakhstan's foreign trade surplus shrank 64% in Jan-Feb
ASTANA. April 14 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's foreign trade surplus of Kazakhstan totaled $3.6 billion in January- February 2015 or a decrease of 64% compared to the same period last year, the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry said.
In January 2015, the country's foreign trade turnover decreased 37.1% year-on-year to $13.4 billion, including exports of $8.5 billion (down 45.8%) and imports of $4.9 billion (down 12.2%).
Exports to Eurasian Economic Union member states amounted to $539 million (a decrease of 34.6%), imports to $1.723 billion (an increase of 21.9%).
The main importers of Kazakh goods were Italy (21.8% of all exports), the Netherlands (11.2%), China (10.4%). The main exporters to Kazakhstan were Russia (33.9% of all Kazakhstan's imports), China (18.3%), the United States (6.1%).
