MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Schlumberger's planned purchase of shares in Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC) will be examined by the government commission on foreign investment within roughly 10 days, Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) chief Igor Artemyev told journalists.
The FAS has agreed that conditions that Schlumberger must meet, he said. "It was agreed with Schlumberger that such conditions are acceptable for them and now we want to hear the position of the government bodies. We are collating this position, and in five-six days will go to [Prime Minister] Dmitry Medvedev with a proposal to convene the commission," Artemyev said.
Asked how long that would be, he said: "It'll take somewhere around 10 days I think."
Artemyev said that the letter of the FAS will be sent to the government at the beginning of next week.
