Shoigu: NATO bolstering military potential in Eastern Europe

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - NATO is trying to seize geopolitical space by beefing up its military potential in Eastern Europe, including with U.S. tactical nuclear weapons, Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.

"The geography of their exercises - exclusively the eastern flank of the alliance and the Arctic region - is proof of their anti-Russian stance," he said at the Moscow International Security Conference.

"Non-nuclear NATO countries are engaged in drills practicing the use of U.S. tactical nuclear armaments deployed in a number of European states," he said.
