Chukotka gold output rises 7% in Q1

ANADYR. April 16 (Interfax) - Russia's Chukotka Autonomous District raised gold production 7% year-on-year in Q1 2015 to 7.79 tonnes, the press office of the region's governor and government said.

Silver production fell 13% to 34.17 tonnes.

Canada's Kinross Gold produced 2.87 tonnes at the Kupol mine, as much as in the same period of last year. Silver production at Kupol fell 5.7 tonnes to 29.13 tonnes. Kinross produced 2.7 tonnes of gold at the Dvoinoye field, 194 kg more than a year previously, and 3.4 tonnes of silver, up 584 kg.

Polymetal's Maiskoye mine produced 1.59 tonnes of gold in concentrate; OJSC Rudnik Karalveem produced 322.5 kg of gold at the Karalvem mine, 157 kg less year-on-year; and Rudnik Valunisty produced 269 kg of gold, up 106 kg, and 1.6 tonnes of silver, 45 kg more.
