Russia, Iran to develop cooperation in sphere of regional security - Iranian defense minister
MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Iran and Russia plan to develop cooperation in the sphere of international and regional security, Iranian Defense Minister Hosein Dehqan said.
"We have discussed the theoretical foundations of the factors that we use to stabilize the situation in the region," Dehqan said at the 4th Moscow conference on international security following a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
"Bearing in mind our common views, we have come to the conclusion that we can form a new world order together and participate in regional cooperation," he said.
"We have discussed the fight against terrorism and extremism and also the mechanisms for coordinating our actions," he said.
The Iranian minister also said the meeting with Shoigu had addressed "the experience of our cooperation on crisis management in the region."
