Most temporary refugee accommodation points in Rostov region are already closed

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 17 (Interfax) - Twelve temporary refugee accommodation points have been closed in the Rostov region since the beginning of April due to the decrease of the number of forced migrants from Ukraine on the territory of the region, the information policy department of the region's government told Interfax on Friday.

"In early April, over 2,000 residents of Ukraine who had to leave the southeastern regions of Ukraine were in the twenty stationary temporary accommodation facilities in the Rostov region. Twelve of these twenty temporary accommodation facilities have now closed by the Rostov region's authorities and the number of people who live there has decreased to 1,700 people," the source said.

Five to twenty citizens of Ukraine are sent from Rostov-on-Don to other regions of Russia by rail every day, the source said. A total of 138 refugees from Ukraine are expected to leave for Stavropol, Perm, Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod on Friday and Saturday.
