Fitch postpones rating decisions on Russia - Finance Minister Siluanov
WASHINGTON. April 18 (Interfax) - Fitch Ratings has postponed the consideration of its rating decisions regarding Russia to a later date to examine the situation in the country's economy more carefully, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told journalists.
"We met with rating agencies today. I personally met with Fitch. They haven't revised the rating so far, saying that they have postponed the consideration of the situation in Russia by the board and will analyze the situation in the economic and financial sectors more thoroughly. In any case, no decisions have been made on revising the rating," Siluanov said.
Russian Finance Ministry officials plan to meet with the Big Three credit rating agencies in Washington; meetings with S&P and Fitch have already been held, and a meeting with Moody's representatives is to take place later on Saturday, Siluanov said.
