Moscow would welcome renewed dialogue with U.S. - Peskov
MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - The Kremlin says that an initiative to improve dialogue between Russia and the United States should come from Washington.
"Russia was never the initiator of the scaling down of the bilateral dialogue on various issues. Russia was never the initiator of the sanctions rhetoric, neither in words, nor in deeds, and Russia can only regret that Washington was the initiator of all that," Russian President's Press Secretary Dmtiry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
Therefore, an initiative to improve the bilateral dialogue should come not from Russia, he said.
"Naturally, we will be ready to welcome the initiative to return to the logic of dialogue and cooperation. But since we were never the initiators of the opposite, we are ready to welcome our partners' actions," the president's spokesman said.
