Russia might approve revised Pharma-2020 federal program within month
MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has promised to revise the Pharma-2020 program for the development of Russia's pharmaceutical industry to include production of key drug ingredients and approve the document within a month.
"Returning to active ingredients, we need to set up their production, and in this sense we must make all management decisions," Medvedev said during the government's report to the State Duma.
He said the Pharma-2020 program will be revised. "I hope that I will get the final text soon and expect that in the next month the document will emerge from the depths of the government. I will make a point of seeing to this," Medvedev said.
Speaking about drug prices, Medvedev said that prices for vital drugs have risen by about 6% in the past three months, while prices for other medicines have jumped by about 17%, which is "already fairly painful."
