Missile fall in Arkhangelsk region confirmed, fuel poses no threat to population - Russian Emergency Situations Ministry

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in the Arkhangelsk region in the area of the cosmodrome Plesetsk on Wednesday, the National Crisis Management Center told Interfax.

The center said the fuel of the missile poses no threat to the population.

"This accident poses no threat to residents or environmental safety. The fuel of the missile poses no threat to people's life and health. The missile did not have any hazardous components or substances," the source said.

The source also said there was no fire or explosion.

A source in the emergency services earlier told Interfax that a prototype launch vehicle launched from the cosmodrome Plesetsk on Wednesday has fallen in the Arkhangelsk region. The source added that the area was scarcely populated.
