Polish ambassador given note over Warsaw's refusal to allow motor rally honoring 70th Victory anniversary

MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - Polish Ambassador to Russia Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz was given a note of protest at the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday over Warsaw's refusal to allow a motor rally honoring the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War cross that country.

"The ambassador was told that Russia is still waiting for exhaustive explanations over Warsaw's unsubstantiated and defiant actions which cannot be called other than an affront to the memory of those killed for the sake of liberating Europe from fascism," the ministry said on its website.

"Pelczynska-Nalecz promised to notify Warsaw about the Russian demarche," it said.
