"The successful implementation of the nation's plan will require a favorable international climate. We will carry on cooperation with our strategic partners: Russia, the People's Republic of China, the United States, EU member states and the Islamic world. We will be actively interacting with international organizations. Being a leader of Central Asia, Kazakhstan will maintain the general architecture of security and economic development of our region," Nazarbayev said.
"Great reforms are about to start," he declared.
"We will hold drastic structural reforms to support the economic growth based on industrialization. Education and health care will orientate towards OECD standards," the president said.
"Kazakhstan is an economic leader of our region. But we cannot be content with that. We will build the developed knowledge economy on reforms. The primary objective is better living standards for the people of Kazakhstan. This is vital for creating a broad middle class," he added.
