Russian agricultural organizations boost sales of main products in Q1 - Rosstat
MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural organization in Q1 of this year increased sales of their main types of products, grain, meat and poultry, milk and eggs, in comparison with last year.
However, rates of growth slowed somewhat.
The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said that grain sales increased by 0.3% to 6.7 million tonnes. In comparison with Q1 2014 there was a substantial slowdown in growth rates, but this can be attributed to the introduction of the export duty on wheat on February 1, 2015. In Q1 2014 in comparison with the same period of 2013, growth was 76.8%.
They boosted sales of meat and poultry 7.7% to 2.2 million tonnes (live weight) in Q1 2015. A year ago there was growth of 8.9%.
Milk sales grew 4.8% year-on-year to 3.3 million tonnes. This was higher that the rates of growth during the corresponding period of last year, which amounted to 1.1%.
Egg sales rose 4.1% to 7.3 billion. Last year this figure was lower than that of the corresponding period of the previous year by 4.3%.
