Putin to meet with several foreign leaders on May 9 - aide
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - In addition to participation in events commemorating victory in WWII on May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin will also hold a number of bilateral meetings the same day, says Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov.
The morning of May 9 will begin for the president with the greeting of the heads of honorary delegations, after which he will go to Red Square to attend the victory parade.
Afterwards, Putin will take part in a joint flower-laying ceremony to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall and then host a ceremonial reception, where the heads of the delegations and the diplomatic corps have been invited.
Following the reception, Putin is scheduled to hold meetings with a number of foreign leaders, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Indian President Pranab Kumar Mukherjee, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Czech President Milos Zeman, and South African President Jacob Zuma.
