Ukraine sends special groups to Donetsk Republic for provocations on V-Day's eve - Zakharchenko
DONETSK. May 6 (Interfax) - The leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Alexander Zakharchenko, forecasts that Ukrainian provocations with respect to the DPR could begin on May 8.
"According to our intelligence, provocations on the part of Ukraine will begin on the eighth. We have intelligence that Ukraine has thrown special groups in here for that purpose," Zakharchenko told reporters on Wednesday.
DPR militias are ready for defense, he stressed.
"We have everything in order to free our land and the occupied territory, but we hope that we will force Ukraine to return our land peacefully," Zakharchenko said.
"Poroshenko indulges in wishful thinking. We are against that part in Kyiv which toppled the legitimate government militarily. Ukraine will sooner become part of the DPR," Zakharchenko said.
