Venezuelan president to attend May 9 parade in Moscow
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will attend the festivities in Moscow on May 9, the country's ambassador to Russia, Juan Vicente Torrealba, told reporters on Wednesday.
In particular, Maduro will attend the parade on Red Square, he said.
The Venezuelan leader is expected to arrive in the Russian capital on Friday, he said.
For the people of Venezuela, it is an honor to have Maduro invited to Moscow on May 9, the ambassador stressed.
On Wednesday the Venezuelan ambassador and the ambassadors of other Latin American countries attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.
