March marking DPR Independence Day scheduled to be held in Donetsk

DONETSK. May 10 (Interfax) - Several thousands of people are expected to take part in the march marking the DPR Independence Day scheduled to be held in Donetsk on May 11, the city's Mayor Igor Martynov said.

"I expect the scale of this march to compare to yesterday's Victory parade. The civilians who will take part in it will march o the central street of the city, Artyom Street, to the Lenin square, where he first part of the celebrations will take place. Specifically, there will be a concert involving local stars," the Donetsk News Agency quoted Martynov as saying.

The mayor said "a lot of surprises are in store for he city residents and guests" on that day.

On May 11, the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) will celebrate its Independence day. A referendum on the region's self-determination was conducted in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on May 11, 2014.
