Lavrov, Kerry agree to meet in near future

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the United States Secretary of State John Kerry have agreed to hold a meeting in the very near future to discuss possible joint steps in assisting in the resolution of various conflicts and to consider the status of the bilateral relationship.

Kerry passed his congratulations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, stressing the enormous contribution made by the Russian and other nations of the Soviet Union in defeating fascism, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Russia reveres the memory about the joint fight by the Allies against Hitlerite Germany, Lavrov said.
